Installation Procedure

    Install the intake camshaft (2) and the intake camshaft actuator (1).

    Align and install the EN-50793  Camshaft Actuator Retainer (1) into the slots of the intake camshaft actuator.

  3. Mount the EN-50793  Camshaft Actuator Retainer to engine front cover and tighten the 2 bolts (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    Camshaft Position Actuator Bolt (1) - Install NEW - Camshaft Assembly Assemble

    Remove the EN-50793  Camshaft Actuator Retainer (1).

  6. Apply clean engine oil to all lobes and journals prior to installing the camshafts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  7. Lift the intake camshaft from the exhaust camshaft position and place it into it's original position.
  8. Set the intake camshaft on top of the roller followers in the camshaft bearing journals with the intake actuator timing mark at approximately the 11 O'clock position.

    Camshaft Bearing Cap (2) - Install [5x] - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation 

  10. Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (1) - Install [10x] - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation 
  11. Apply clean engine oil to all lobes and journals prior to installing the camshafts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Install the exhaust camshaft (1) and exhaust camshaft actuator (2).

  13. Set the exhaust camshaft on top of the roller followers in the camshaft bearing journals with the exhaust actuator timing mark at approximately the one O'clock position.

    Align and install the EN-50793  Camshaft Actuator Retainer (1) into the slots of the exhaust camshaft actuator.

  15. Mount the EN-50793  Camshaft Actuator Retainer (1) to engine front cover and tighten the 2 bolts (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    Camshaft Position Actuator Bolt (1) - Install NEW - Camshaft Assembly Assemble

    Camshaft Bearing Cap (2) - Install [4x] - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation 

  18. Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (1) - Install [8x] - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation

    Camshaft Bearing Cap (2) - Install - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation 

  20. Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation

    Timing Chain Guide (3) - Install

  22. Timing Chain Guide Bolt (2) - Install - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation 
  23. Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (1) - Install - Intake and Exhaust Camshaft, Bearing Cap, and Lash Adjuster Installation

    Remove the EN-50656  Timing Chain Retainer (1).
