Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Dampener

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The fuel feed pipe dampener is located just before the high-pressure fuel pump and is used to dampen the high-pressure fuel pump's significant pulsations. The dampener is a spring-loaded check valve that allows fuel to free flow to the high-pressure fuel pump but prevents high pressure fuel pulsations from flowing back to the fuel tank. The valve has an integral bypass that allows a controlled bleed back to the fuel tank. The purpose of the bleed is to prevent excessive pressure from building up in the low-pressure fuel lines and potentially damaging components of the low-pressure fuel circuit.
