Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) - On and Off
Verify the scan tool parameter:
- MIL Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status = Not Run or OK
- MIL Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status = Not Run or OK
- MIL Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or OK
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Perform the scan tool control function: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) - On and Off
Verify the component turns On and Off: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) @ P16 Instrument Cluster
- If the component does not turn On and Off
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the component turns On and Off
- If the component does not turn On and Off
- Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) @ P16 Instrument Cluster - Turns Off
Perform the action while monitoring the component: Wiggle the harness and connector: X1 @ K20 Engine Control Module
- If a condition exists
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- If a condition exists
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify that no DTCs are set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
