Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0641 is not set.
- If the DTC is set
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- Engine running.
- Verify the following parameter is within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature: IAT Sensor 1
- If not within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - DTC P0112, P0113, or P0114
- Go to next step: If within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
- If not within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
- Verify the following parameter is within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature: IAT Sensor 2
- If not within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - DTC P0097-P0099 or P00F4-P00F6
- Go to next step: If within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
- If not within 5°C (9°F) of the actual ambient air temperature
- Verify the scan tool parameter: IAT Sensor 1 = Temperature should change with engine run time.
- If the value does not change
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - DTC P0112, P0113, or P0114
- Go to next step: If the value changes
- If the value does not change
- Verify the scan tool parameter: IAT Sensor 2 = Temperature should change with engine run time.
- If the value does not change
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - DTC P0097-P0099 or P00F4-P00F6
- Go to next step: If the value changes
- If the value does not change
- Verify the condition does not exist:
- A loose charge air cooler hose.
- An obstructed charge air cooler (snow, dirt, aftermarket parts, etc.).
- Collapsed or restricted intake air duct.
- Clogged air cleaner.
- Water intrusion in the following components or their wiring harnesses: B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - DTC P0097-P0099 or P00F4-P00F6 , & DTC P0112, P0113, or P0114
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and heating elements inside the sensor, perform steps 4 and 5 of this procedure only if the ignition has been Off for longer than 8 h.
NOTE:
The following parameter displays live data only when the engine is running: IAT Sensor 1 & IAT Sensor 2
