Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P2AB8, P2AB9, P2B81, P2B93, P2C9B, or U0644 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Perform the scan tool control function: Turbocharger Wastegate Position - Increase & Decrease
Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Engine - Idling - At normal operating temperature
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: M128 Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If not the specified state
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
