| K20 Engine Control Module | The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly. |

The assembly contains the following components:

The camshaft profile actuator system is a variable lift valvetrain which enables the control module to change camshaft lobe profile while the engine is operating. The control module can command the following positions:
- Cylinder Deactivation - Cylinder 2 & 3
- High Lift
- Low Lift
This system uses the following components:
- B338 Intake Camshaft Profile Sleeve Position Sensor
- B339 Exhaust Camshaft Profile Sleeve Position Sensor
- M129 Intake Camshaft Profile Actuator
- M130 Exhaust Camshaft Profile Actuator
- Camshaft profile control sleeve
Each camshaft profile actuator has two actuator pins to either move the camshaft profile control sleeve left or right to change the camshaft lobe profile. The control module can only command the camshaft profile actuator pin to extend out. The actuator pin is returned to the retracted position using the exit ramp on the camshaft profile control sleeve. The actuator pins are held in the retracted position with high power magnets.
The control module monitors for the following normal positions:
- Actuator Pin @ Camshaft profile actuator = 68% or greater - Retracted
- Actuator Pin @ Camshaft profile actuator = 55% - Extending
- Actuator Pin @ Camshaft profile actuator = 45% or less - Extended
