Removal Procedure

  1. Lower Oil Pan - Remove - Lower Oil Pan Replacement

    NOTE:

    It may be necessary to rotate the balance chain to install the EN-52441 Balance Shaft Timing Tool.

    Install the EN-52441  Balance Shaft Timing Tool (1) through the hole in the oil pump.

  3. Crankshaft Position Sensor Inner Exciter Ring - Remove - Crankshaft Position Sensor Inner Exciter Ring Replacement 
  4. Balancer Chain Tensioner - Remove - Balancer Chain Tensioner Replacement 
  5. Balancer Chain Guide - Remove - Balancer Chain Guide Replacement

    Hold on the balance shaft sprocket (1) with a suitable wrench to loosen the balance shaft sprocket bolt (2).

  7. Balancer Shaft Sprocket Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Remove the balance chain (1) and balancer shaft sprocket (2).
