Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the B20 Brake Fluid Level Sensor.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground terminal 1 and B+
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 

      Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1050 or the ground connection.

    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  3. Verify the scan tool Brake Fluid Level Switch parameter is greater than 10 V
    • If the parameter is less than 10 V 
    1. Test circuit 333 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Replace the K160 Brake System Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If the parameter is greater than 10 V 
  4. Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between signal terminal 2 and ground terminal 1.
  5. Verify the scan tool Brake Fluid Level Switch parameter is less than 1 V.
    • If the parameter is 1 V or greater 
    1. Test circuit 333 for a short to voltage.
      • If an short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is found is not found
    2. Test circuit 333 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K160 Brake System Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If the parameter is less than 1 V 
  6. Replace the B20 Brake Fluid Level Sensor.
