Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve
CAUTION:
In order to avoid evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve seal and induction component damage, ensure the following:
- DO NOT use any petroleum based products for seal lubrication.
- Avoid tilting or twisting of the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve; the valve must remain 90 degrees to the sealing surface.
- Only apply light downward pressure to the outside of the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve body. DO NOT use the mounting fastener to seat the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve in the induction port bore. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in seal deformation, damage to the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve and damage to the induction components.
Procedure
- Lightly coat the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve O-ring with mild soapy water. Use just enough to lubricate the O-ring.
- Connect the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve electrical wiring harness connector.
- Connect the evaporative emission canister purge tube at the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve.
