Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    NOTE:

    Check the engine timing.

    Apply pressure on the piston (1) to release tension from the pawl (3).

  2. Rotate the lever (2) counter-clockwise.
  3. Push the piston (1) inward until fully depressed, then release the lever (2).

    Slowly relieve tension from the piston (1) until it extends three clicks.

  5. Install a suitable pin (2) as shown to lock the tensioner.

    Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket (3) - Install NEW

  7. Timing Chain Tensioner (2) - Install
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  9. Remove the tensioner locking pin.
  10. Engine Front Cover - Install - Engine Front Cover Replacement
