Removal Procedure

- Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Remove
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement - Remove
- Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (At Tank) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Engine to Tank) - Disconnect
- Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (LTG) - Remove
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LTG) , or Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LTG Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe to Radiator Surge Tank) - Remove
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube@Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (1) - Remove - Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement
- Throttle Body Assembly Replacement - Remove
- Fuel Pump Replacement - Remove
Disengage the intake manifold cover clips (1) then remove the cover (2).
- NOTE:
The intake manifold bolts are retained in the intake manifold. If the bolts cause clearance concerns, secure them as needed using tape.
Fully loosen the intake manifold bolts (1) in order to remove the intake manifold.
- Separate the intake manifold from the engine to gain access to the fuel pressure sensor.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Remove
- Remove the intake manifold. (2)
Remove and DISCARD the gasket.
- Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection - Clean and inspect the intake manifold.
NOTE:
The fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor must be removed to obtain enough clearance to remove the intake manifold from the vehicle.
