Circuit/System Verification

  1. Operate the component:S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch - Select each position
    • {Off/Low}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper Switch = Off/Low
    • {Off/High Speed}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper High Speed Switch = Inactive/Active
    • {Off/Wash}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Washer Switch = Inactive/Active
    • If none of the specified states change 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1

    • If some, but not all, of the specified states change 

      Select the function with the specified state that does not change:

    • {Low Speed}Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1
    • {High Speed}Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1
    • {Wash}Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1
    • Go to next step: If all the specified states change 
  2. Operate the component:S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch - Select each position
    • {Delay 1 - 5}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper Switch = Delay 1 - 5
    • {Mist}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper Switch = Low
    • If not the specified state 

      Test or replace the component:S82 Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  3. Perform the scan tool control function:Windshield Wiper Motor Relay Command - High Speed/Low Speed

    Verify the component turns On and Off:M75 Windshield Wiper Motor

    Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper Switch = Off/Low

    Verify a click can be heard or felt at the component when the scan tool control function was commanded:M75 Windshield Wiper Motor

    • If a click cannot be heard or felt 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 2

    • Go to next step: If a click can be heard or felt 
  4. Operate the component:M75 Windshield Wiper Motor - Select each position
    • {Inactive/Active}Verify the scan tool parameter:Windshield Wiper Park Switch = Inactive/Active
    • If none of the specified states change 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 2

    • Go to next step: If all the specified states change 
  5. All OK.
