The drive motor generator power inverter module controls the three permanent magnet 3-phase electric motors that are internal to the transmission, and perform the following functions:
- Torque for vehicle propulsion
- Engine cranking
- Battery charging
- Regenerative Braking
- Transmission fluid pressure
