Installation Procedure

Position a NEW intermediate steering shaft outer boot clamp (1) onto the intermediate steering shaft outer boot.
Position the intermediate steering shaft (1) in the vehicle.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 42 N.m (31 lb ft)
- Clean the threads of the bolt and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Slide the intermediate steering shaft outer boot (1) downwards and onto the steering gear.
Use the DT-35910 pliers (1) to install the NEW intermediate steering shaft outer boot clamp.
- Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
