Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Test for 12.4 to 12.8 V between the test points:Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 12.4 and 12.8 V
Refer to:Battery Inspection/Test
- Go to next step: If between 12.4 and 12.8 V
- If not between 12.4 and 12.8 V
- Inspect the electrical connectors and the ground circuits of the component for poor connections. - K20 Engine Control Module & T19 Power Supply Transformer
- If a condition exists
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal(s) / Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- If a condition exists
- Verify no communication DTCs are set.
- If a communication DTC is set
- Go to next step: If a communication DTC is not set
- Engine - Running - For greater than 15 s
- Headlamp - ON
- Test for 13.4 to 15 V between the test points:Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 13.4 and 15 V
Refer to:Charging System Test
- Go to next step: If between 13.4 and 15 V
- If not between 13.4 and 15 V
- Verify the component activates: - Ignition On..
- A11 Radio
- P16 Instrument Cluster
- If the component does not activate
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the component activates
- Verify DTC P3051, P3053, P3055 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- All OK.
NOTE:
The battery voltage should stabilize after a few minutes of turning the ignition/vehicle Off.
