Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
- Perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure for servicing the T6 Power Inverter Module or the T12 Transmission.
- Disconnect the G5 transmission fluid pump high voltage AC 3 phase circuit harness connector at the rear of the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the each of the AC circuit terminals listed below and ground for each phase of the G5 Transmission Fluid Pump - Electric/Auxiliary:
- Terminal 3 phase U
- Terminal 2 phase V
- Terminal 1 phase W
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the G5 Transmission Fluid Pump - Electric/Auxiliary.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Verify DTC P1E38 does not set.
- If the DTC sets
- Perform each of the operations listed below one at a time until the fault is corrected.
- Verify the T6 Power Inverter Module has the latest calibration in Calibration Information.
- If the T6 Power Inverter Module does not have the latest calibration, program the T6 power inverter module.
- Go to next step: If the T6 Power Inverter Module has the latest calibration
- Replace the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- Replace the G5 Transmission Fluid Pump - Electric/Auxiliary.
- Verify the T6 Power Inverter Module has the latest calibration in Calibration Information.
- Repeat the DTC check.
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- All OK
WARNING:
Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:
Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.
NOTE:
The G5 Transmission Fluid Pump connector CPA can be difficult to disengage without exerting slight downward pressure on the harness.
