Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Instrument Panel Dimmer Switch - High Low

    Verify the scan tool parameter:LED Backlight Dimming Control 1 = High Low

    • If the parameter state does not change 

      Refer to:Dimmer Switch - Malfunction

    • Go to next step: If the parameter state changes 
  3. LED Backlight Dimming - Switch - On and Off

    Verify the component activates:Switch - LED Backlight Dimming

    • A98 Front Overhead Console Assembly = On and Off
    • S126 Drive Mode Select Switch = On and Off
    • S13D Door Lock Switch - Driver = On and Off
    • S13P Door Lock Switch - Passenger = On and Off
    • S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console = On and Off
    • If the component does not activate 

      Refer to:LED Backlight Dimming - Malfunction

    • Go to next step: If the component activates 
  4. Scan Tool Device Control - Backlight Dimming - On and Off

    Verify the component activates:Backlight Dimming - All = On and Off

    • If the component does not activate 

      Refer to:Backlight Dimming - Malfunction

    • Go to next step: If the component activates 
  5. All OK.
