- DT 36850 Transjel Lubricant
- CH 45004 Fuel Tank Drain Hose
Equivalent regional tools:Special Tools (Mechanical Tools) , or Special Tools (Diagnostic Tools)
WARNING:
Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.
WARNING:
Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.
- Raise and Support the Vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- NOTE:
Lubricate the fuel drain hose with DT 36850 Transjel Lubricant or equivalent to aid in hose insertion. Do not use an unapproved lubricant.
Loosen the lower drain hose clamp (1) in order to separate the fuel tank filler hose (2) from the fuel tank filler pipe (3).
- A catch pan needs to be placed under the hose before it is inserted to catch any fuel that may come out.
- Insert the CH 45004 Fuel Tank Drain Hose into the fuel tank filler hose (2) until the hose reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
- Use a hand or air operated pump device in order to drain as much fuel from the fuel tank as possible.
