Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
Do not lift or carry the electric brake booster by the input rod, electrical connectors or master cylinder reservoir. Failure to follow these steps may damage the electric brake booster.
- Remove one of the electric brake booster fuses from the engine compartment fuse block.
- Brake Pedal Position Sensor - Remove - Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
Compress the brake pedal retainer (1) locking tabs.
- NOTE:
Pull the brake pedal rearward to disconnect the retainer.
Brake Pedal (1) - Disconnect
Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD
- Brake Master Cylinder - Remove - Brake Master Cylinder Replacement (Without HP4) , or Brake Master Cylinder Replacement (With HP4)
- Disconnect the power brake master cylinder booster electrical connectors.
Power Brake Booster Bolt (1) - Loosen [2x]
Power Brake Master Cylinder Booster (1) - Remove
CAUTION:
If there is no brake fluid in the master cylinder, remove one of the brake booster fuses before applying the brake pedal. Failure to do so may damage the electric brake booster.
NOTE:
Do NOT remove the master cylinder reservoir.
