Camshaft Cover Installation

Apply approximately a 5 mm (0.2 in) thick bead of camshaft cover sealant (2) between the cylinder head (1) and the engine front cover (3). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.
Camshaft Cover Gasket (2) - Install a NEW gasket.
- Camshaft Cover (1) - Install
Camshaft Cover Bolt (2, 5, 6, 7, 9) - Install [16x] - Do NOT tighten.
- Camshaft Cover Stud (1, 3, 4, 8) - Install [8x] - Do NOT tighten.
- CAUTION:
Tighten the camshaft cover bolts and studs in sequence as shown to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
O-Ring (3) - Install a NEW O-ring seal.
- Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Install
- Oil Level Indicator Tube Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
