Removal Procedure

Starter Replacement (LFV) - Remove

NOTE:

Remove only the camshaft of the seal being serviced.

Exhaust Camshaft Replacement - Remove

NOTE:

Remove only the camshaft of the seal being serviced.

Intake Camshaft Replacement - Remove
Install EN-51760 Flywheel Holding Tool.

Install the EN-51511 Injector Port Service Plug into the injector bore to prevent air leaks in the cylinder.

NOTE:
When mounting the valve spring compressor to the cylinder head, ensure that it is mounted on top of the lower camshaft bearing portion of the cylinder head as indicated by the arrow. Exhaust side shown, intake side is similar.

Install the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor (1) to the front and rear of the cylinder head as shown.
Install the cross bars and locks (2) of the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor to the valve spring compressor adaptors.
Spark Plug Replacement - Remove

NOTE:
Close the valves of the cylinder being services prior to pressurizing the cylinder.

Rotate the camshaft not being removed so that the camshaft lobes are facing upward as indicated by the arrows.
Install an air hose adapter into the spark plug hole.
Attach an air hose to the adapter and pressurize the cylinder to 690 kPa (100 psi).
Compress the valve spring using the valve spring compressor (3).

Remove the valve spring keepers (1).
Remove the retainer (2) and valve spring (3).
Use the EN-37281-A Valve Guide Seal Remover to remove the valve seal (4).
