Installation Procedure

NOTE:
- The lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
- Install and align the oil pan to block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
- The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 60 minutes of applying the sealer.
Apply a 4.25 mm bead of sealer (1) on the level part of the flange around the perimeter of the oil pan (2) as shown. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

NOTE:
When installing the oil pan, carefully align the oil pan to the locating pins and install the pan onto the lower crankcase.

Coat the oil pan bolts (1) (2) and (3) with teflon pipe sealant prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Install the oil pan and hand start the oil pan fasteners (1), (2) and (3).

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:
Inspect for excessive sealer around the oil filter mounting area. If extra sealer is present remove and clean accordingly.

Tighten the oil pan fasteners in sequence to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the oil pan to transmission fasteners (1). Tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

Connect oil flow control solenoid valve connector (1).
Lower Oil Pan Replacement - Install

Connect the engine oil flow control valve solenoid connector (1).
Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LFV) - Install
Fill the engine oil and install a NEW oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
