Installation Procedure
The retainer (1) of the turbocharger oil feed pipe fitting (2) is pre-installed.
Install a NEW turbocharger oil feed pipe fitting gasket (1).
- Install a NEW turbocharger oil feed pipe fitting (2) and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
- CAUTION:
When installing a quick-connect turbocharger oil feed pipe, ensure that the oil feed pipe is fully secured into the oil feed pipe fitting. An audible click will be heard when the oil feed pipe is seated. If the oil feed pipe is not fully seated, an oil leak can occur in certain RPM ranges and will cause significant component and/or vehicle damage. Due to the possibility of significant component and/or vehicle damage from an oil feed pipe leak, it is necessary to start the engine and inspect for signs of leakage around the connections after performing the repair.
NOTE:The retainer (3) is pre-installed in the fitting. Therefore the pipe can be snapped into the fitting but cannot be removed once installed.
Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe (2).
- Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe clip (1).
- Pull back on turbocharger oil feed pipe (2) to be sure the retainer (3) properly retains the pipe in the fitting.
- Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (LFV) - Install
- Lower the vehicle.
Install 2 NEW turbocharger oil feed pipe gaskets (2).
- Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe bolt (1) and tighten to 32N.m (24 lb ft)
- Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement (LFV) - Install
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
All components at turbocharger side of oil feed pipe must be free of oil to ensure that proper torque is reached when tightening bolt at the turbocharger. Failure to ensure components are free of oil can result in over torque of fastener and damage to either fastener or turbocharger.
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Ensure all components, including threads in turbocharger at turbocharger side of oil feed pipe, are clean and free of debris. If necessary, clean all components with Low VOC brake cleaner or equivalent. Avoid allowing excessive cleaner to enter turbocharger.
