Installation Procedure

  1. For cylinder head assembly, refer to Cylinder Head Assemble .

    NOTE:

    Ensure that the cylinder head and the cylinder block sealing surfaces are clear of oil, grease and old gasket material.

    Install the NEW cylinder head gasket. (2)

  3. Install the cylinder head. (1)

    Install the NEW cylinder head bolts finger tight. (1)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Tighten the NEW bolts in sequence shown.

    1. First Pass: 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    2. Final Pass: 240 degrees - EN-45059-A  Angle Meter

    EN-36857  Engine Lift Bracket (1) @ Cylinder Head - Install

  7. EN-51768  Engine Support Fixture Adapter (2) - Install
  8. Install the engine support fixture hook to the EN-36857  Engine Lift Bracket (1).

    Remove the lift hook (3) from the EN-36857  Engine Lift Bracket attached to the engine block.

  10. Remove the EN-51768  Engine Support Fixture Adapter (2), and EN-36857  Engine Lift Bracket (1) from the engine block.
  11. Water Outlet Replacement (LFV) - Install
  12. Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement  - Install

    EN-51007  Global Engine Support Fixture (1) - Remove

  14. Fuel Pump Replacement - Install
  15. Intake Manifold Replacement  - Install

    Connect the fuel feed pipe retainers (1) and pipe (2). Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (At Tank) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Engine to Tank)

  17. Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger Replacement  - Install

    EN-51768  Engine Support Fixture Adapter (2) - Remove

  19. EN-36857  Engine Lift Bracket (1) @ Cylinder Head - Remove

    Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition

  21. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
  22. Change the engine oil and filter. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement 
  23. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) - Fill
