Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
1 Crankshaft Front Oil Seal

Procedure

  1. Remove the crankshaft oil seal using a suitable tool.
  2. Lubricate the outside diameter of the new crankshaft seal with clean engine oil.
  3. Determine which end of the EN-51368  installer will be used and install the seal on it.
  4. Install the EN-51368  installer over the crankshaft.
  5. Install the EN-51368  screw, large washer, bearing, and nut.
  6. Counter-hold the screw, and tighten the nut to install the seal.
NOTE:

The oil seal must be installed in the correct direction. The side that faces out will have "this side out" printed on it. The design of the seal determines which end of the EN 51368  installer is used. Use the end of the installer that matches the design of the seal, as shown.
