Installation Procedure

- NOTE:
Install a NEW water outlet seal.
Water Outlet Seal (3) - Install
- Water Outlet (2) - Install
- Water Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
Water Outlet Bolt (4) - Install and tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector. (3)
- Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Water Outlet - Connect
- Heater Inlet Hose Retainer (1) - Engage
- NOTE:
Using a pair of long needle nose pliers will aid in installing the hose clamp.
Thermostat Bypass Hose Clamp (5) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Radiator Inlet Hose (4) @ Water Outlet - Connect
- Radiator Inlet Hose Retainer (3) - Engage
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Water Outlet - Connect
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Retainer (1) - Engage
- Intake Manifold Cover - Install Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
