Component Testing

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:S70E Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Presets
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: - The switch is in the open position. - Next Preset/Previous Preset
- Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3
- Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:S70E Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Presets
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the test points: - The switch is in the closed position. - Next Preset/Previous Preset
- Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3
- Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3
- If 10 ohms or greater
Replace the component:S70E Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Presets
- Go to next step: If less than 10 ohms
- Disconnect the electrical connector:S70F Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Volume
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: - The switch is in the open position. - Volume Down Button/Volume Up Button
- Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3
- Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:S70E Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Presets
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the test points: - The switch is in the closed position. - Volume Down Button/Volume Up Button
- Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3
- Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3
- If 10 ohms or greater
Replace the component:S70F Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Radio Volume
- Go to next step: If less than <p01> ohms
- All OK.
