Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE:

    As little as 2 ohms of resistance in a circuit may cause a DTC to set.

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump
  3. Test for 0.3 to 0.7 ohms between the test points:Control terminal 1 & Control terminal 2
    • If not between 0.3 and 0.7 ohms 

      Replace the component:G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump

    • Go to next step: If between 0.3 and 0.7 ohms 
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  5. All OK.
