Removal Procedure
The rear end spoiler CANNOT be reused, it must be replaced with a NEW service part.
Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim (2) - Remove - Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement
Rear End Spoiler Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- Measure and mark the pilot hole drilling locations.
Measurements:
- Measure from the left corner of the rear end spoiler to the inner edge 780 mm (30.70 in) to mark point (a)
- Measure from point (a) to the middle of the spoiler 41 mm (1.61 in) and mark pilot hole drilling point (b)
- Starting from point (b), measure 446 mm (17.55 in) to the left and 41 mm (1.61 in) inboard to mark pilot hole drilling point (c)
- Starting from point (c), measure 167 mm (6.57 in) to the left and 41 mm (1.61 in) inboard to mark pilot hole drilling point (d)
Starting at the center hole, measure 446 mm (17.55 in) to the right and 41 mm (1.61 in) inboard to mark pilot hole drilling point (e)
- Starting from point (f), measure 167 mm (6.57 in) to the right and 41 mm (1.61 in) inboard to mark pilot hole drilling point (f)
- Drill 5 pilot holes in the rear end spoiler (1) using a 4.7 mm (3/16 in) drill bit at pilot hole drilling locations (b), (c), (d), (e), (f).
- NOTE:
Use care when setting the depth of the centering bit in the hole saw so that it will only cut through the first layer of plastic on the rear end spoiler.
Using a 76.2 mm (3 in) hole saw bit, drill 5 holes in the top of the rear end spoiler (1) at pilot hole locations (b), (c), (d), (e), (f).
- NOTE:
Use care when removing the spoiler material not to grind through the base of the spoiler completely.
Using a suitable tool, remove the rear end spoiler plastic material (1) from around the rear end spoiler stud (2).
Remove the plastic spoiler material above the remaining rear end spoiler studs (1).
Rear End Spoiler (1) - Remove
- Unscrew the rear end spoiler studs (2) from the rear compartment lid.
