Component Testing

S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch

Ignition/Vehicle - Off
Disconnect the electrical connector:S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch
Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Switch - All - Released
- Component terminal B & G
- Component terminal C & G
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the component:S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:Switch - All - Released
- Component terminal B & E
- Component terminal C & E
- If 2 ohms or greater
  Replace the component:S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:Switch - Pressed
- {S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch - Forward}Component terminal B & G
- {S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch - Rearward}Component terminal C & G
- If 2 ohms or greater
  Replace the component:S65 Seat Lumbar Support Switch
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
All OK.

M53 Seat Lumbar Support Motor

Ignition/Vehicle - Off
Disconnect the electrical connector:M53 Seat Lumbar Support Motor
Connect a 30 A fused jumper wire between the test points:Control terminal 1 & B+
Momentarily connect a jumper wire between the test points:Control terminal 2 & Ground
Verify the component works as specified:The component should change direction when reversing the jumper wires back and forth between the terminals.
- If the component does not work as specified
  Replace the component:M53 Seat Lumbar Support Motor
- Go to next step: If the component works as specified
All OK.
