Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode - Transmission in Park
- Perform the following learn procedure:K17 Electronic Brake Control Module-Learn
- Vehicle On
- Apply & Release - Brake Pedal
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Turn the Vehicle Power Off, remove all keyless entry transmitters from the vehicle and secure in a place outside the vehicle.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Brake Pedal Not Applied
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Brake Controls Brake Pedal Position Sensor 5V Supply Voltage = 4.75 to 5.25 V
- Brake Controls Brake Pedal Position Sensor Circuit 1 = 1.4 to 1.7 V
- Brake Controls Brake Pedal Position Sensor Circuit 2 = 58 to 78%
- If not in the specified range
- Go to next step: If in the specified range
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Brake Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor = Less than 100 kPa (15 PSI)
- Brake Pressure Sensor = Less than 100 kPa (15 PSI)
- High Pressure Accumulator Pressure Sensor = Less than 800 kPa (116 PSI)
- If not in the specified range
Replace the component:Q5 Brake Pressure Modulator
- Go to next step: If in the specified range
- Perform the following procedure/test:Hydraulic Brake System Diagnosis
- Test Failed
Repair as necessary
- Go to next step: Test Passed
- Test Failed
- Replace the component:Q5 Brake Pressure Modulator
- Under normal operating conditions:Verify DTC P05FF is not set.
- If DTC P05FF is set
Replace the component:K17 Electronic Brake Control Module
- Go to next step: If no DTC is set
- If DTC P05FF is set
- All OK.
NOTE:
It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
