Circuit/System Verification

Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
Verify no other DTCs are set.
- If any other DTCs are set
  Refer to:Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step: If no other DTCs are set
Verify the following conditions do not exist:Brake Pedal Position Sensor-or-Brake Pedal = Binding or Sticking
- If a condition exists
  Repair or replace the components as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
Operate the component:Brake Applied & Brake Pedal Not Applied
Verify the scan tool parameter:Brake Pedal Position Sensor = Active & Inactive
- If the component does not work as specified
  Refer to:Symptoms - Lighting
- Go to next step: If the component works as specified
Replace the component:K17 Electronic Brake Control Module
