Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch
  3. Test for 6000 to 6250 ohms between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Signal terminal 3
    • If not between 6000 and 6250 ohms 

      Replace the component:S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If between 6000 and 6250 ohms 
  4. Press and hold the switch:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Up
  5. Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 600 and 660 ohms 

      Replace the component:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 600 and 660 ohms 
  6. Press and hold the switch:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Down
  7. Test for 1900 to 2100 ohms between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 1900 and 2100 ohms 

      Replace the component:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 1900 and 2100 ohms 
  8. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component:S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  9. All OK.
