Disassemble Procedure

- Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft - Remove - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MKE) Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (M3E) Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MRG) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LTG) Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LKN) Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LFV)
- Place the front wheel drive half shaft horizontally in a soft jawed bench vice.
- CAUTION:
Do not cut through the wheel drive shaft inboard or outboard boot during service. Cutting through the boot may damage the sealing surface of the housing and the tripot or the constant velocity joint bushing. Damage to the sealing surface may lead to water and dirt intrusion and premature wear of the constant velocity joint.
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Boot Clamp (1) @ Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint Boot - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint (1) @ Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft (2) - Disengage by tapping with a bronze bar and hammer.
Joint Retaining Ring (1) @ Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft (2) - Remove and DISCARD
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint Boot (1) @ Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft (2) - Remove and DISCARD
- Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint - Inspect for damage
