Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

CAUTION:

Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .

  1. If equipped with RPO LFX, remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LFX) .
  2. Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LFX) .
  3. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector.
  4. GM2739672

    Disconnect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the master cylinder.

  5. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  6. GM2739674

    Disconnect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

  7. Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  8. GM2738929

    Release the primary brake pipe from the retaining clips (1).

  9. Remove the BPMV primary brake pipe.
