Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Spring Replacement

WARNING: Refer to Eye Protection Warning . Preliminary Procedures Reposition the left side rear compartment side trim panel enough to gain access to the left side spring. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side . Reposition the right side rear compartment side trim panel enough to gain access the right side spring. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side .
1	Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Spring Procedure Pull the rear compartment lid spring backwards and unhook the rear compartment lid spring from the rear compartment lid hinge spring bracket. NOTE: There are two possible tension settings for the spring that will affect the speed the compartment lid will open. The factory installed tension is the slot toward the front of the vehicle. To increase the opening speed, place the springs in the slot most rearward.

Preliminary Procedures

Reposition the left side rear compartment side trim panel enough to gain access to the left side spring. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side .
Reposition the right side rear compartment side trim panel enough to gain access the right side spring. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side .

Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Spring

Procedure

Pull the rear compartment lid spring backwards and unhook the rear compartment lid spring from the rear compartment lid hinge spring bracket.

NOTE:
