Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0689, P0690, P1402 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to : Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step : If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Engine - Idling
- Verify DTC P0045, P0047, P0048, P169E, P169F is not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to : Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- Perform the scan tool control function : Turbocharger Vane Position - From 10 to 90% and back to 0%.
Verify the scan tool parameter : Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor = Increase & Decrease
- If not the specified state
Refer to : Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step : If the specified state
- If not the specified state
- Perform the action while monitoring the parameter : DTC P0045, P0047, P0048, P169E, P169F = Not set
- Wiggle the harness and connector : M103 Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator
- Wiggle the harness and connector : K20 Engine Control Module
- If the DTC sets
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal(s) / Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
