Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to : DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3
- Go to next step : If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Verify DTC P16B0, P16B1, P16B2, P2564, P2565 is not set.
- If only DTC P2564, P2565 is set
Replace the component : M103 Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator
- If DTC P16B0, P16B1, P16B2 and one or more of the DTCs P2564, P2565 is set
Refer to : Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step : If none of the DTCs are set
- If only DTC P2564, P2565 is set
- Perform the scan tool control function : Turbocharger Vane Position - Increase & Decrease
Verify the scan tool parameter : Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor = Desired Turbocharger Vane Position
- If not the specified state
Refer to : Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step : If the specified state
- If not the specified state
- Verify the scan tool parameter : Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor = The value should not spike or drop out.
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter :
- Wiggle the harness and connector : M103 Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator
- Wiggle the harness and connector : K20 Engine Control Module
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal(s) / Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step : If the value does not spike or drop out
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
