Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system :
- B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
- B66 Intake Air Temperature Sensor
- B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
- Q17 Fuel Injector
- If a related DTC is set
Refer to : Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step : If a related DTC is not set
- Verify the scan tool parameter :
- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 = Temperature Versus Resistance - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor - The value should be within the range listed in the table.
- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 = Temperature Versus Resistance - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor - The value should be within the range listed in the table.
- If not the specified value
Replace the appropriate component : B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor
- Go to next step : If the specified value
- Verify the following conditions do not exist :
- Exhaust System - Leaking/Missing components/Restricted - Refer to : Exhaust Leakage
- Charge Air Duct - Leaking/Loose/Restricted
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step : If no condition exists
- Perform the scan tool control function : DPF Service Regeneration
- Verify sensor 2 is at least 100°C (180°F) warmer than sensor 1 :
- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1
- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2
- If sensor 2 is not at least 100°C (180°F) warmer than sensor 1
Replace the component : Oxidation Catalytic Converter
- Go to next step : If sensor 2 is at least 100°C (180°F) warmer than sensor 1
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the component : Oxidation Catalytic Converter
- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
