Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Verify a blockage or restriction does not exist in the EVAP system components listed below.
Verify the following conditions do not exist :
- Damaged, defective, or loose component :
- Fuel Tank Filler Cap or Capless Type Fuel Fill
- Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve
- Evaporative Emission Pipe - Kinked or Disconnected
- EVAP Vent Solenoid Valve
- Evaporative Emission Canister
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step : If no condition exists
- Damaged, defective, or loose component :
- Install any previously removed components.
- Remove the component : Fuel Tank Filler Cap - If equipped
- Install the special tool : CH-41415-30 Fuel Tank Cap Adapter or Install the special tool : GE-41415-60 Engine Induction System Leak Test Adapter/Capless Fuel Fill Adapter - Capless Type Fuel Fill
- Connect the special tool : GE-41413-A / B Evaporative Emissions System Tester (EEST) @ CH-41415-30 Fuel Tank Cap Adapter or GE-41415-60 Engine Induction System Leak Test Adapter/Capless Fuel Fill Adapter
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool function : EVAP Purge/Seal - Not Venting
- Use the tool to achieve a gauge reading of 1.24 kPa (0.01 bar, 5.0 in H2O). GE-41413-A / B Evaporative Emissions System Tester (EEST) - NitrogenNOTE:
Do NOT exceed the specified value or incorrect test results may occur.
- Perform the scan tool function : EVAP Purge/Seal - Venting
- Verify the scan tool parameter : Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor = 0 mmHg (0 in. H2O)
- If not the specified value
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Inspect the following for leaks, kinks, or other restrictions : Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step : If no condition exists
Go to next step : Replace the component : Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid Valve
- If a condition exists
- Go to next step : If the specified value
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to step 1
- Go to next step : If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
