Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
The camshaft MUST be in the base circle position before the fuel pump is installed.
Use the EN-51092 installation gauge (1) to ensure the camshaft lobe is in the base circle position.
At the base circle position, the alignment gauge will sit flush with the cylinder head.
- Before continuing, lubricate the valley cover bore with clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- NOTE:
- ALWAYS make sure the fuel pump bolt retainers are present before installing the fuel pump bolts.
- If ANY fuel pump bolt retainers are missing or NOT suitable for reuse, do NOT continue with the installation process.
Install the fuel pump bolts (1) through the fuel pump cover (2) and the fuel pump bolt retainers (3).
- Install the fuel pump bracket gasket (4) over the fuel pump bolts (1) until all components form an assembly.
Install the fuel pump assembly (1) to the cylinder head and start the fuel pump bolts (2) by hand.
- Tighten the fuel pump bolts (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
Install the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe - position 2. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement - Position 2
Connect the fuel feed pipe (1) to the fuel pump. Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Install the fuel feed pipe - at engine. Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Short/Long Wheel Base) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Chassis Cab Front Tank) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Chassis Cab Rear Tank) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (At Engine)
Connect and install the fuel injector wiring harness (2) to the fuel injection fuel rail - bank 1. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 1
