Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Clean and inspect the fuel injector prior to reinstalling it.
Combustion Fuel Injector Seal (1) - Install NEW
Slide the fuel injector hold down clamp (3) into the grooves on the fuel injector (5) and install them together into the valve rocker arm cover ensuring that the fuel injector locating pin (4) engages the fuel injector hold down clamp (3).
- Fuel Injector Washer (2) - Install
- Fuel Injector Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 32 N.m (24 lb ft)
Electrical Connector (1) @ Fuel Injector (2) - Connect
- Fuel Injection Fuel Return Pipe - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Return Pipe Replacement
- Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe - Fuel Injector to Fuel Rail - Install NEW - Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Fuel Injector to Fuel Rail) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Fuel Pump to Fuel Rail)
- Replace the fuel filter. Fuel Filter Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)
- Prime the fuel system. Fuel System Priming
- With the engine running, check the fuel system for leaks.
- Intake Manifold Cover Insulator - Install [2x] - Intake Manifold Cover Insulator Replacement
- Perform the fuel trim reset. Fuel Trim Reset
- Perform the high pressure fuel correction reset. High Pressure Fuel Correction Reset
- Perform the fuel injector flow rate programming. Fuel Injector Flow Rate Programming
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.
NOTE:
If applicable, perform the fuel filter life reset after replacing the fuel filter.
