Circuit/System Description
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The water in fuel sensor has a ignition circuit, signal circuit, and a ground circuit. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the signal circuit for a predetermined voltage. The ECM determines the amount of water in the fuel with a sensor located in the fuel filter assembly. When the water in the fuel is above an acceptable level, the ECM sends a request to the instrument panel cluster to illuminate the Water In Fuel lamp.
