Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Starter Heat Shield (4) - Remove - Starter Shield Replacement (LV1)

    Protective Sleeve (3) - Reposition

  5. Electrical Connector (4) @ Starter Solenoid - Disconnect
  6. Battery Positive Cable Nut (2) - Remove
  7. Battery Positive Cable (1) - Remove

    Engine Oil Cooler Pipe (1) - Reposition - Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LWN) , or Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LV1)

    Remove the right side flywheel inspection cover bolt (1).

    Starter Mounting Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

  11. Remove the starter (1) with the right side flywheel inspection cover.
