Installation Procedure
- Install the shift cable to the vehicle.
- Raise the vehicle.
Install the shift cable (2) to the shift lever (3).
- Install the locking clip (1) to the cable at the bracket.
- Lower the vehicle.
Install the rubber grommet (2) to the floor panel.
- Connect the retainer (1).
- Connect the range selector lever cable retainer located on the left side underbody near the cable adjuster.
- Reposition the carpet and insulation to it's original position.

- NOTE:
Ensure the shift lever is in the Park position.
Secure the shift cable (3) to the steering column bracket.
- Install the shift cable (1) to the steering column shift control (2).
- Adjust the shift cable. Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment
- Install the knee bolster bracket. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement (Left Side) , or Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement (Right Side)
- Release the parking brake.
Prior to installing the shift cable to the vehicle, ensure that the column shift lever and the transmission control lever are in the mechanical park position. The transmission control lever can be positioned to mechanical park by rotating the control lever clockwise until it reaches its full clockwise position.
After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.
