Component Testing

  1. Ignition Off.
  2. Remove the KR22 Fuel Heater Relay from X50A Fuse Block-Underhood.
  3. Test for 70 - 110 Ω between terminals 85 and 86.
    • If not between 70 - 110 Ω 

      Replace the KR22 Fuel Heater Relay.

    • Go to next step: If between 70 - 110 Ω 
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals:
    • C3/30 and B3/86
    • C3/30 and B1/87
    • C3/30 and C1/85
    • C1/85 and B1/87
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the KR22 Fuel Heater Relay.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  5. Install a 20 A fused jumper wire between relay terminal B3/86 and 12 V.
  6. Install a jumper wire between relay terminal C1/85 and ground.
  7. Test for less than 2 Ω between terminals C3/30 and B1/87.
    • If 2 Ω or greater 

      Replace the KR22 Fuel Heater Relay.

    • Go to next step: If 2 Ω or less 
  8. All OK
