Circuit/System Testing

  1. Verify that no additional DTCs are set.
    • Go to next step: If additional DTC is not set 
  2. Review the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data to verify if Engine Speed exceeded 5000 RPM.
    • If the Engine Speed exceeded 5000 RPM 

      Inspect the engine for the following:

    • Aftermarket power-up devices
    • Modified fuel system
    • Contaminated engine oil
    • Un-metered fuel source
    • Go to next step: If the Engine Speed did not exceed 5000 RPM. 
  3. Replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
