Circuit/System Testing

- Verify a condition does not exist with the component:
- Induction System - Leaking/Loose Clamps/Restricted/Visible Damage
- Q67 Exhaust After Treatment Fuel Injector - Leaking/Restricted - Refer to: Exhaust After Treatment Fuel Injector Diagnosis
- Verify the following conditions do not exist:
- Coolant consumption - Refer to: Loss of Coolant
- Fuel - Contaminated/Poor Quality - Refer to: Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis , & Fuel System Specifications
- Oil consumption - Refer to: Oil Consumption Diagnosis
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Exhaust System & Oxidation Catalytic Converter
- Cracked
- Internal component rattle
- Leaking - Refer to: Exhaust Leakage
- Loose Clamps
- Missing components
- Restrictions - Refer to: Restricted Exhaust
- Severe discoloration caused by excessive temperatures
- Visible Damage
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Retrieve the value from the time the DTC was set by using the Freeze Frame/Failure Records.
- Temperature sensor 1 must be at least 100°C (212°F) cooler than temperature sensor 2.
- If within 100°C (212°F) of each other
Replace the component: Catalytic Converter
- Go to next step: If not within 100°C (212°F) of each other
- If within 100°C (212°F) of each other
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to step 1
- Go to next step: If no DTC is set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
