Circuit/System Verification

- Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following system/component:
- B9 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
- B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
- B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor
- B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
- B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor
- If a related DTC is set
- Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set
- Verify the following conditions do not exist:
- Q20 Intake Air Flow Valve - Binding or Sticking/Restricted
- Air Cleaner Element - Restricted/Saturated with water
- EGR Cooler - Leaking/Restricted
- EGR Valve - Binding or Sticking/Restricted/Visible Damage
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation System - Leaking/Restricted
- Exhaust System - Leaking/Missing components/Restricted/Visible Damage
- Induction System - /Leaking/Restricted - Refer to: Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Full System Leak Test) , or Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Induction System Smoke Test)
- Mass Air Flow Sensor - Contaminated/Skewed
- Turbocharger - Leaking/Restricted
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Clear the DTCs.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the component: Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve
- Go to next step: If no DTC is set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
