Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: Q17 Fuel Injector
  3. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  4. Test for 4. 5 to 6. 5 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 1 & Ground
    • Go to next step: If between 4. 5 and 6. 5 V 
  5. Test for 0. 60 to 0. 80 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
    • Go to next step: If between 0. 60 and 0. 80 V 
  6. Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Q17 Fuel Injector - Refer to: Component Testing
    • If a condition exists 

      Replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  7. Perform a conventional engine compression test. Refer to: Engine Compression Test
    • If one or more cylinders indicate low compression 

      Repair as necessary

    • Go to next step: If all cylinders indicate normal compression 
  8. Test or replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector
