Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: Q17 Fuel Injector
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Test for 4. 5 to 6. 5 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 1 & Ground
- If not between 4. 5 and 6. 5 V
- Go to next step: If between 4. 5 and 6. 5 V
- Test for 0. 60 to 0. 80 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
- If not between 0. 60 and 0. 80 V
- Go to next step: If between 0. 60 and 0. 80 V
- Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Q17 Fuel Injector - Refer to: Component Testing
- If a condition exists
Replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- If a condition exists
- Perform a conventional engine compression test. Refer to: Engine Compression Test
- If one or more cylinders indicate low compression
Repair as necessary
- Go to next step: If all cylinders indicate normal compression
- If one or more cylinders indicate low compression
- Test or replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector
